Ashley Ray

Counseling Intern

If I could pick one word to sum up what I hope you feel in our time together, it is this—welcome. I hope that, in the time we share, we can create a space in which all parts of you feel welcome and safe, where you can be seen and heard just as you are.
I am currently a counseling intern studying through Colorado Christian University. I have been married to my husband for a number of years and we have 3 lively children. I lived overseas with my family for several years, and this experience has given me insight into the unique challenges and rewards of living and working cross-culturally. Additionally, as someone who has been a part of the recovery community and lost a relative to addiction, I can resonate with the complex emotions we all navigate. My approach is based in a person-centered framework that seeks to respect and empower each person in identifying and reaching their goals in a gentle and safe environment. I borrow from emotion-focused approaches and seek to engage the wealth of resources at our disposal when we understand and work with our bodies rather than against them. I aim to approach problems in a way that honors each person and their experiences.
