My educational background has focused on addictions and clinical mental health, areas I feel deeply called to. I’ve spent much of my volunteer time supporting individuals who struggle with addiction, and this work has truly become my passion. Walking alongside people in some of their hardest seasons has strengthened my desire to serve in this field professionally.
On a personal note, I’ve been married to my husband for 20 years. Together we share a big, blended family — four children and seven grandchildren — which has given me a lot of life experience, perspective, and compassion. Life’s ups and downs have taught me firsthand how challenges can shape people and how deeply those struggles can impact addiction and mental health.
I’m looking forward to continuing to grow, learn, and serve in a meaningful way through an internship opportunity.

Our Place of Hope provides adults living w/ mental illness a stable, warm, and inviting environment where they can regain purpose, participate in meaningful work, and build meaningful relationships. We are open Monday-Thursday from 9am-2pm. We are not a medical or clinical facility, but the Clubhouse supplements both types of treatment. The Clubhouse reduces the isolation commonly associated with mental illness and provides structure and purpose through members' participation in the Work-Ordered Day.

Counseling should be a place where you feel safe, seen, and supported. I meet every client with empathy, compassion, and zero judgment. Whether you're navigating trauma, managing depression or anxiety, struggling with self-esteem, or working through other challenges, I'm here to walk alongside you.
My areas of focus include addictions, anger, PTSD, women's sexual integrity and addiction, attachment issues, and relationship concerns.
I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I also incorporate other approaches—including Reality Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Psychoanalytic Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing—to best meet each client's unique needs.
I support clients in exploring formative life experiences to understand how early relationships and events may influence present-day patterns. Together, we will create meaningful, personalized goals that support your overall well-being—mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
I have appointments available in Lexington, Gaston, and Batesburg. I can offer a sliding scale. Feel free to ask!

I believe meaningful counseling begins with genuine connection. I strive to create a space where clients feel seen, understood, and respected, while also honoring their time and goals. My approach is empathetic and collaborative, but also purposeful—I value therapy that is focused, intentional, and grounded in empirically supported, solution-oriented practices that help clients make real progress rather than feeling stuck in the process.
At the heart of my work is a belief that people are created for meaning, purpose, and wholeness. I am passionate about helping individuals clarify what matters most to them and move toward lives marked by growth, resilience, and flourishing. My Christian faith deeply shapes who I am and how I view people, healing, and hope. When clients desire, I thoughtfully integrate faith into counseling in a way that aligns with their values and supports their personal journey.
Outside of the counseling room, I enjoy running and staying active, as movement has long been a grounding and restorative part of my own life. I’m also an enthusiastic fan of ice cream in all its forms—because balance matters. These pieces of who I am inform my belief that wellbeing is holistic, involving mind, body, and spirit working together toward a full and meaningful life.

Mental Health Coaching Intern
I believe that we all were designed by God for resilience, growth, and healing. I believe that through support, reflection, and exploration everyone can unlock the strength God has given within to move from struggling to flourishing. Through my degrees from CIU in Youth Ministry and Bible, as well as certificates from Light University in Professional Life Coaching, Youth Mental Health Coaching, Marriage and Family, and Professional Mental Health Coaching, I am able to partner with clients as they grow beyond where they are and move towards where they want to be. By helping the client clarify what they want to accomplish, working with them to establish their own goals, creating positive habits, and challenging faulty thinking, I assist my clients as they take steps towards transformation. Having spent much of my life struggling with mental health I am passionate about helping others disrupt the cycle.

Narratives are very important to me, as a Christian and as a counselor. I enjoy reading in my spare time, and I see counseling as a way to identify the themes we read in our lives and challenge them or change them as needed. I am trained in EMDR, but I will always work with you as my client to make sure we are on the same page with where therapy is going.
