I believe that we all were designed by God for resilience, growth, and healing. I believe that through support, reflection, and exploration everyone can unlock the strength God has given within to move from struggling to flourishing. Through my degrees from CIU in Youth Ministry and Bible, as well as certificates from Light University in Professional Life Coaching, Youth Mental Health Coaching, Marriage and Family, and Professional Mental Health Coaching, I am able to partner with clients as they grow beyond where they are and move towards where they want to be. By helping the client clarify what they want to accomplish, working with them to establish their own goals, creating positive habits, and challenging faulty thinking, I assist my clients as they take steps towards transformation. Having spent much of my life struggling with mental health I am passionate about helping others disrupt the cycle.

Narratives are very important to me, as a Christian and as a counselor. I enjoy reading in my spare time, and I see counseling as a way to identify the themes we read in our lives and challenge them or change them as needed. I am trained in EMDR, but I will always work with you as my client to make sure we are on the same page with where therapy is going.

Julia has been working with clients in the Columbia area since 2019. She holds a master’s degree in counseling from Columbia International University (1997) and a doctorate (PhD) in Human Development from the University of Texas at Dallas (2002).

She regards counseling as a privilege to accompany individuals during difficult seasons of life on their journey towards healing and flourishing. In addition to supporting clients with a variety of issues like depression, anxiety, or adjustment disorders, she is especially passionate about working with couples and families who are experiencing relationship conflict or ambivalence. She has spoken at conferences and published several articles regarding marriage and family well-being and the ways faith can support marital satisfaction.

With specializations in couple's therapy, adolescence, trauma, and addictions, services are designed to employ evidence-based treatments that honor and promote the dignity of the person as designed in the image of God to live life well - whole and complete - for the glory of God.

Jonathon received his masters in clinical counseling from Columbia International University and quit his renovation business to work as a therapist at Reconciliation Ministries, helping men heal from traumas that lead to severe addiction.

I joined the Christian Counseling Center team as an intern in the spring of 2020 and as a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA) in the spring of 2021. I hold a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. I’m a National Certified Counselor (NCC) by National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) and a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) – Candidate. My therapeutic interests include working with individuals struggling with sexual addiction, betrayal trauma, substance abuse, families of addicts, relational issues, spiritual formation, crises and trauma, as well as life and career transitions. Prior to counseling, I spent 13+ years working in various levels of leadership across the organization of a Fortune 150 insurance company. I made the switch from the business world to counseling based on a calling that God placed on my life to walk with individuals through the difficulties of life and to help individuals achieve their desired growth and transformation. I utilize a variety of approaches to include cognitive behavioral, experiential, and person centered to help individuals reach their desired change.

I attended Clemson University where I earned my B.S. in Psychology/Youth Development. I continued my education at Clemson and received my M.Ed in Counselor Education and Ed.S. in School Counseling. After graduating I started as the lower school counselor at Ben Lippen School in Columbia, SC. This experience sparked my love for working with children, youth and young adults. This passion motivated me to expand my work to other parts of the Midlands. I currently have an office in Columbia and Camden.
